C40 WPCC 2008
On July 9, 10 and 11, 2008 the World Ports Climate Conference will be held in Rotterdam. On that occasion, delegates from more than 30 ports and cities will attend to underwrite the Declaration.
On November 26 and 27, 2007 representatives from 14 ports convened in Rotterdam to discuss initiatives and approaches towards reducing CO2 emissions. The ports were brought together under the auspices of the C40 Large Cities Climate Leadership Group and supported by the Clinton Climate Initiative.
The result of the meeting is a first draft for a World Ports Climate Declaration. In the next months this Declaration will be further worked out in detail by the participating ports and initiatives will be taken to involve other leading ports from around the globe.
